Qualified Invidiual


A Medicare Savings Program that pays for Medicare Part B premiums. To qualify, an individual must:
  • Be eligible for Medicare Part A and B
  • Have countable income less than 135% of the Federal Poverty Level (until 3/31/2009, $1,218.00 per month for individuals, $1,639.00 for couples),
  • Have assets at or below the limit ($4,000 for individuals, $6,000 for couples), and
  • Meet all other Medi-Cal eligibility requirements.
